I spent 15 years as working as a digital editor and journalist for print and online media outlets. After spending time volunteering in classrooms, homeschooling our youngest son and tutoring middle and high students, I realized I had a knack for getting kids excited and engaged with reading, writing, and thinking.

My constant hair evolution doesn’t hurt, either. (Current mood: pink, gold, and more pink.)

When my youngest son decided to test the waters again in school, it was time for me to think about a new adventure. My husband shared his wish for me: “Do something that fills your heart and brings you joy.”

Copy that.

I just completed my first year of grad school on the road to inspire middle and high schoolers about English Language Arts … and maybe Spanish on the side.
